1202 History

It started as a mere dream in room 024 in Mountain View at Samford University. The founding fathers, Sam Davidson and Adam Bugg, had no idea that such a dream would blossom into the reality it has become. However, this dream did have nightmares along the way. Seeking freedom that Samford could not allow, the two soon contacted Benjamin Marvin Grier in the fall of 2000. Immediately after he signed on, a search began for a fourth. After reviewing many applications, Rob Ingram was added in late May 2001 completing the fearsome foursome. Summer complicated the process. Adam Bugg was the main contact with Barbara, Amanda, and Mendolyn, who tried time and again to keep the guys on Samford's campus. But the four men would NOT back down. Late July partnered 1202 with Adam, Sam, Ben, and Rob. Soon afterwards, electric, gas, phone, cable appointments were made and move-in day was at hand. At 12:02 p.m. on August 8th, Sam and Ben signed the lease and were handed the keys to "paradise." The two walked into the apartment, rubbed their eyes to make sure it wasn't a dream, and Ben Grier "fell in love with it." Adam Bugg arrived the 13th, and Rob Ingram arrived on the 18th, completing the quartet. What you are viewing today was merely an embryo in the minds of four wonderful men, just a short time ago, but who truly embody the spirit of 1202 where "you never expected so much from four college guys."
